JSFC is going to join ASCEND to celebrate a Cherry Blossom Picnic at Mill River Park in Stamford, on Saturday, April 20  from 11:30 to 2:30pm. ASCEND CTW is the CT/Westchester chapter of Ascend, the largest non-profit Pan-Asian membership organization for business professionals in North America. They have rented the grove of cherry blossom trees at the north end of the park, east of the carousel. The trees might not be in bloom – there are both Yoshinos and Kwanza in Mill River Park but cherry trees are blooming early this year. This link gives some of the history of cherry trees in Stamford.

You can bring your own food to the park, or pay $20 per person to Ascend to share theirs. If you are going to come, please email your name to info@japansocietyfc.org. Tell us if you want to pay the $20 so we can give Ascend a count for the food. JSFC Corporate supporter Maruichi Select Japanese market is at 191 Summer St is one block away from the park, so you may wish to buy lunch food there instead. There are also several Japanese restaurants nearby.
